n. Congratulations. Often used in the plural.
Today I am proud of myself. Not for using my time well or persistently looking for a job. Not for having shared my time with a family I struggle with or having started to write my Leadership, Legislation & Policy assignment. I’m pleased with myself because today I started my eBay adventure!
I lived with assiduous eBay customers for a couple of years and I must confess I’d always envied the joy of receiving numerous random parcels in the post. Well, not only was envy, I kinda enjoyed it as well. Anyway, now it’s my turn! Who would have thought so?!
I’ve been ‘playing’ for the past 12 hours and I’ve already encountered the taste of disappointment. Some random Yorkshire resident outbid me in the purchase of quilling paper!!! It was such a bargain! 75 strips of 3mm-wide yellow quilling paper for 0.08!!! [Oh, the joys of eBay!] In the end, the yorkshirian bought it for 0.80, placing their bid only one minute before the end time, that is, the one moment in the day when I went downstairs to get a drink. It was then that I decided to cheat the system and buy the same amount of purple quilling paper from the “buy now” articles. No bidding, just plain money-goods exchange. The choice of colour was a personal treat since, after all, I had been eBaying the right way for 5 hours!!!
The fact that I was buying this for an event I’m planning completely legitimatizes and justifies my eBay adventure. Maybe that’s what I’m proud of. I’m proud because I managed to make out fun something that was meant to be boring.
How frivolous!!!
Suena realmente divertido. Pero fíjate, que aunque se supone que tengo que trabajar con las nuevas tecnologías de la comunicación, sigue sin gustarme la compra vía digital… En fin =)
Take care.
