Madge is back! This woman might not have an obvious singing talent but she certainly knows how to stay in business at the expense of questionable edifying values.
4Minutes is a clever move for a comeback by the hand of Justin Timberlake and his inseparable music producer Timothy Mosley, otherwise known as Timbaland. The pair have produced several of the latest number ones, such as SexyBack or Give It To Me.
It is not hard to guess the theme of the song, since, of course, what could be better than singing about sex? Nothing sells better. The line that gets me is “we only have four minutes to save the World”: L-O-L, save the World from what?! Desertion?!!! In four minutes?! I guess it’s possible, but wouldn’t it be nicer to take a bit longer?!
In terms of originality I’d give the song a 4 out of the well-known 5 iTunes stars, since the song sounds a bit like everything else T&T have produced recently, in addition to having that Pharrellic flavour. Watch out, the song is definitely a grower.
The well choreographed and visually striking video is pure controversy in Madonna’s true style (I’m glad to see she keeps the same personality through the years). Luckily I managed to watch it before it was removed from YouTube by Madonna’s label but it will definitely be back soon. I think it’s worth checking up even though, personally, I found it slightly gruesome and unsuitable for epileptics. What do you think?
